We approach Safety as a Culture. Everyone within our company must view Safety as an integral part of their every day work environment. Our prime goal (and concern) is to provide accident-free work sites for all of our employees. This also includes those that work around us. In order to accomplish this goal, our commitment to our safety program goes well beyond compliance.

 

Workplace Health and Safety Policy

 

At HV Contracting our Workplace Health and Safety is based on a belief that the well-being of people employed at work, or people affected by our work, is a major priority and must be considered during all work performed on our behalf.

 

People are our most important asset and their health and safety is our greatest responsibility. The public shall be given equal priority to that of our employees.

 

The objectives of our Safety Policy are:

• To aim to achieve an incident free workplace
• To make health and safety an integral part of every position
• To ensure health and safety is considered in all planning and work activities
• To involve our employees in the decision making processes through regular communication,
  consultation and training
• To provide a continuous program of education and learning to ensure that our employees work in the safest possible manner
• To identify and control potential hazards in the workplace through hazard identification and risk analysis
• To ensure potential accident/incidents are controlled and prevented
• To provide effective injury management and rehabilitation for all employees
• To ensure HV Contracting compliance with relevant Western Australian Occupational Safety and Health Legislation

 

The success of our health and safety management is dependent on:

• Pro-active planning of all work activities with due consideration given to implementing Workplace Health and Safety controls that are suitable to each given situation
• Understanding the total work process and associated Workplace Health and Safety risks
• Ensuring the work team is totally committed to achieving our objectives
• Ensuring that open and honest communication exists between management and all employees

We are proud of our accident-free workplace. Two fundamental principles have contributed to our success:

1. Our belief that all accidents are preventable, and

2. Our commitment that if a work task cannot be performed safely we will not perform the task.

 

Our Environmental Policy and associated procedures ensure that our activities do not adversely affect the environment. We strictly adhere to all client policies and provide Environmental Management Plans for managing projects with sensitive environmental issues.
